To me genealogy reveals not just how we got here and met that special someone but is a case where serendipity, chance, luck and fate all came together.

Some of us are planned by our parents others are a happy surprise. Either way, we're here and that is what counts. Every day is a gift for us to explore, learn, share and be humble.

I joke that I in regards to creative naming I have the third most common name in the US. (John Smith is number one) I always recall the Natural Light commercial from 1978 You can Call Me Ray featuring my last name name sake Ray Johnson. He was know to say, I don't care what they call me, just don't call me late for dinner.

Apart from the chance meetings of our ancestors, there is the miracle of our existence. It is astonishing that so many babies are born healthy after the astonishingly complex nine months of making a human, then survive the trauma of childbirth, and afterwards all the potential injuries and diseases abundant in our childhood.
