You can take as many pictures as you want with a smartphone. One of my friends has over 100,000 from the last decade on her iPhone! So, in 100 years, our descendants will have far more pictures of us than we ever had of our ancestors because of all this technology, right?
I wrote online at Frames magazine about some of family photos--the original ones, prints from Kodak or the drug store. I'd said that I was lucky to have 1. Some original negatives and 2. even better, a darkroom to print them. My dad, too, did what you suggest: he gathered and made digital copies of many photos and framed them.
Great Article Jack. What a great reminder to print key photos out. As technology changes , different systems, formats and with thousands of photos, printing out a small subset of key photos is a splendid idea.
